Youth Alpha

Alpha is currently having a dynamic effect among young adults in many countries. In Scotland five minstries have joined together to produce a Schools Alpha resource which has lead to a signigicant growth in Alpha being run in second level schools. Here in Ireland Youth Alpha has been run in a number of secondary schools as part of their Transition year programme. Example Portmarnock Community School, Gonzaga, Drimnagh CBS, Newpark Com, Wesley College. Five ministries in Ireland including Alpha, Scripture Union, Youth for Christ and the Kerygma teams are working on developing a schools Alpha resource for developing Alpha in transition year - Please keep in prayer. Some parishes also use it as a preparation for Confirmation and as part of their youth activities. A Youth Alpha forum was held at the Focolare Centre in Prosperus Co. Alpha in the Workplace

This is a shortened version of Alpha designed to take place during lunch time. It has proved very successful in the U.K. and many other countries. The first business Alpha in a solictitors office in Dublin was successfuly run in Spring 09. We are hopeful that other Christian business men and women will follow suit. Marriage Courses

The Marriage Course is run over seven weeks. Over 1,200 Marriage Courses have taken place to date. Aproximately 23 courses have been run in Ireland to date. The Marriage Course is now being run in 60 countries. The Marriage Preparation course is also starting to prove popular. Alpha Marriage is linking with 10 other ministries in running Marriage Week Ireland on the 2nd week of February each year. To see the Marriage Week Ireland website click here.

Alpha in Prisons

is now running in the prisons of over 74 countries on all the continents around the world. This lead to the formation of a ‘Caring for Ex-Offenders’ ministry which has placed over 500 ex-prisoners in local parishes/churches when they left prison. Alpha has been run in 5 prisons in Ireland.
